  • What vehicles need to be Checked?

    The California Air Resources Board's (CARB) Clean Truck Check applies to almost all non-gasoline trucks, buses, and other heavy-duty vehicles that operate on California public roads and have a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of more than 14,000 pounds. This includes vehicles registered in California and out of state, as well as public vehicles, motorcoaches, school buses, hybrid vehicles, commercial vehicles, and personal vehicles.

    Require an OBD Scan Check.

    Trucks Required 2 Times per Year.

  • Clean Truck Check Non-obd

    Engine Model Year of 2013 or older.

    Require a SAE J1667 Opacity Test.

    AND

    Require a Visual Emission Control Equipment Check.

    Trucks Required 2 Times per Year.

  • Personal Motorhome Clean Truck Check

    Engine Model Year 2013 and Newer Require OBD Scan Check.

    Engine Model Year 2013 and Older Require PSIP Smoke Test.

    AND

    Require a Visual Emission Control Equipment Check.

    Required 1 Time Per Year.

    Annual DOT Inspections are Required for All Commercial Trucks and Trailers that Have a GVWR of 10,001 Pounds or More.

    Require 1 Inspection Every 12 Months.

  • Periodic dot inspections (bit)

    Basic Inspection of Terminals (BIT) Inspections are Required for All Commercial Trucks and Trailers that Have a GVWR of 10,001 Pounds or More. (CVC Section 34500)

    Require 1 Inspection Every 90 Days.
