Terms & Conditions
Terms and Conditions of Nor-Cal Mobile Emission and Inspections
1. Appointment Cancellation
Clients are required to cancel their appointments at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time may not be eligible for rescheduling without additional charges.
2. Mileage Charge
A roundtrip mileage charge applies to all mobile appointments. The charge is $40 for distances within 30 miles of our office. For distances exceeding 30 miles, the charge is $40 plus $3.00 per mile over the initial 30 miles.
3. Payment Methods and Surcharge
Preferred payment methods are cash and checks. Payments made by credit card will incur a 3% surcharge. All payment terms must be complied with as per the agreement at the time of booking.
An invoice will be submitted upon completion of the work and payment will also be due upon completion.
4. Inspection Reports
OBD check reports/certificates are typically sent to the client via email within 24 hours of the completed inspection.
Clients are responsible for maintaining their inspection reports for the legally required duration. It is crucial to ensure these documents are stored safely and securely.
5. Duplicate Reports
Should a client require a duplicate of any inspection report, a $15 administrative charge per report will apply. Requests for duplicate reports must be made formally, and processing time may vary based on current workload.
6. Code Clearing and Repairs
It is considered bad practice to clear DTC codes immediately before any OBD checks. Recently cleared codes could lead to a failed check due to monitors not being properly reset.
Let the inspector know if any major repairs to the vehicles emissions system have been completed recently. This could have an effect on the outcome of the system check.
7. Failed Checks and Inspections
A failed OBD check, smoke opacity check, or DOT inspection will have to be rescheduled for a recheck or repair signoff after proper repairs have been made. OBD and smoke opacity rechecks are charged at the same rate as initial checks.
8. Diagnostics and Repairs
Nor-Cal Emission and Inspections and its staff do not coordinate or conduct diagnostics or repair services for failed vehicles. It is up to the client to coordinate certified repairs and rechecks.
By engaging the services of Nor-Cal Mobile Emission and Inspections, you agree to adhere to these terms and conditions. This ensures a transparent and efficient working relationship, enabling us to provide the highest level of service.
